Waiting On God Requires Patience

Hi Reader,

Are you in need of patience?

Hebrews 10:36 (KJV) says,

“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

There are areas in my life where I’m not good at waiting on God or anybody.

The one woman I ever witnessed who had patience in my lifetime was my grandmother. My grandmother would be calm and at peace while I lost my mind. She would encourage me to calm down and to stop murmuring and complaining.

Today, I'm excited to share the importance of patience. It's important to note that the Hebrew word for patience is “arek,” which means long. The Greek word for patience means long-suffering.

With these definitions in mind, I have a question.ave you ever witnessed someone living with a stubborn or rebellious spouse and complicated children who has not lost their minds? I have. One day, I asked the person how they tolerated it, and the answer was that they put it in God’s hands and on Him to make things better.

Isn’t this what Jesus did before He saved us? The Bible speaks of long-suffering. A long-suffering person is not hasty to react or retaliate but shows mercy.

Jesus showed us mercy then, and He is still showing us mercy. We sin daily, but patiently, God waits for us to surrender everything to Him.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
~ 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

So, what are you waiting for God to do for you? How do you rate yourself?

As for me, I want the patience of God. One day, I asked my grandmother why she was so calm in her waiting, and she told me because she trusted God.

That’s the answer! When a person trusts God, they know He will deliver.

Abraham waited for 25 years in patience for a son. Luke 2:25-35 speaks of a man named Simeon who was revealed by the Holy Ghost–that he should not see death before he had seen Jesus, and he waited patiently until God’s word came to pass.

If you need patience, pray this prayer with me.

Heavenly Father, I need to be patient.
Good things take time. God, I ask you to grant me the patience to wait on your timing. Go to the root of the problem, remove the fear and uncertainty, and give me faith to wait – no matter how long it takes. My impatience brings discontentment and makes me feel on edge. Lord, show me how to trust You and wait patiently for you.
In Your son Jesus' name, Amen.

I’m praying for you.

Hello Reader, When you think of yourself as a mother, what comes to mind first? Perhaps the meals you cook, the lessons you teach, or the sacrifices you quietly make. God has indeed called mothers to live natural lives—as wives, mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, and more. But I want to ask you a deeper question: Have you ever asked God what your spiritual role is as a mother? It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands of motherhood and forget that God chose you for something...
